ABANDONED MILL, 1888-89. Baskett 20. Keppel edition. Initialed in plate and in margin “J.H.T. per A.T.” by John Twachtman’s son, Alden Twachtman. This etching was made to illustrate for a catalogue a pastel of the same subject which had been exhibited in February 1889 in the Fifth Avenue Art Galleries. He preferred this method of reproduction to others, such as steel engravings or photogravures, because it allowed for reinterpretations which the others methods did not. One of 23 located.

Etching: 5 x 3 1/2”
